Day one of quilt circles participation
spent about an hour on this, my first circle in the daily create a circle thingy -
"Quilty 365"
, (which I was inspired to try after looking at Stephanie Boon's work)
So I just pick out some old clothes I was going to cut up to use for rags, pretty much at random. After the pink I thought ok use this blue for the caribbean sky. Then i thought a darker colour would be good, and there was the dull green. Then I chopped it up a bit, and it looked a bit like a banana leaf. And the positioning of it reminds me of leaves invading a house by being over-abundant.
It's more of a sketch rather than something i would display as a finished article. Btw that pink line going across the circle is influenced by Stephie's work (subconsciously)!
I'm quite happy that I 'jumped on board' this idea, as it is a good way to just play with materials and generate ideas, as well as keeping a regular date with art activity each day. I will try to spend not more that one hour max on each one.
