Please note! The chocolate-boxy picture was NOT done by me!. I did the letters to fit with the style of the image and also with the OTT frame! The font is roughly copied from 'Harrington', but the details of the font are lost in the painting.
I had a small tube of gold acrylic, which was luckily not completely dried up. (I'd had it since about somewhere in the 1990's). I managed to squeeze a bit out and mixed it with some water. However it was still a bit lumpy. So I decided to put the paint on thickly, to match the lumpy frame. (I also put some on the frame where the gold paint was chipped there).
Notice that I have added some paler sky behind the words, which was 'scumbled' subtly (I think) to look like it was always a part of the picture (hopefully). The paler sky was necessary to provide a contrast with the letters. The job required bright light and a magnifier, as the letters were rather small to paint with the brush I was using.
Here's my kitchen table, with the job in progress. (Kitchen is cluttered at present). Here's the finished lettering. I gave it a spray with some clear acrylic (car) spray, to protect it.
